Riverrun Tileworks!

Joan Slack, artist and creator of Riverrun Tileworks, offers hand-made tiles for a multitude of purposes. From singly hung, individual tiles to custom-made backsplashes, uniqueness and originality can be found in every piece. Tiles may be ordered singly or in groups by contacting the studio at 715-277-4224. Commissions are also welcome. Please call to discuss your interest and pricing.

In addition to custom, one of a kind installations, we offer a range of tiles organized by theme. Coordinating tiles are found in each series, making it possible to design an arrangement to suit specific spaces. Field tiles in coordinating colors are also available. Since every tile is individually glazed, slight variations will be found in each one, making a beautiful blend of color and hue in the complete design. All tiles can be glazed in any Riverrun glaze selections, which include earth tones, blues, greens and blends.

Every tile is an original design by Joan Slack. Some of the designs have been inspired by artisans of the past eras, but have not been copied. Each tile is hand made, hand carved, then cast in a plaster mold. Individual tiles are made from the mold, bisque fired, then glazed in high fire stoneware glazes. All designs are owned by the artist and may not be reproduced without permission.
