Clay Classes
A HUNDRED WAYS TO WORK WITH CLAY!
Many techniques and ideas will be covered, and students can expect to create several successful pieces, using slabs, coiling and combinations of methods. Throwing on the wheel will be covered, as well as tile making. Basic glazing and discussion of firing methods will be covered.
Class of 6 3-hour sessions, 5:30-8:30
Wednesdays, January 30, February 6-27, March 6
18 hours of class time, includes all clay, materials for glazing and firing - $195
POTTERY WORKSHOP
For new students and continuing, this workshop will provide a wide variety of ways to work with clay, allow some in-depth time to create your own ideas, and offer one on one coaching for wheel and hand-building projects.
January 26, 9-12 - $36
POTTERY WORKSHOP
will also be offered on these dates, take one or all of them, each one $36. Same description as above.
February 2, 9, 9-12 – $36
POTTERY WORKSHOP Working with Slips and Stains
This class will offer hands-on techniques for creating more color in clay, and how to use slips for carving, decoration and unique designs. Some experience working with clay is helpful. Students will create several tiles in the class. All materials and firing provided.
Saturday, February 9, 9-12 – $30
TILE MAKING
Join the fun and learn to create tiles for your home..from coasters to wall tiles, we will explore creating in dimension, surface treatments, glaze techniques, and carving. Expect to make several tiles in the class. You may also choose to come with your own idea and we will help you create it.
Thursdays, January 31, February 7th, February 21st. 5:30-8
3 separate classes, you may take some or all of them for $35 each
Kids Classes!
Saturday afternoon workshops, or after school weekdays, for young people. We will include a variety of techniques in creating clay pieces, both functional or sculptural. Parents can join in. Beginning January 26th. Gather together 4 and we will hold a class. Just reserve early to save a spot. We will cover a variety of forming techniques, with plenty of time for creative experimentation!
Saturday afternoon workshops, or after school weekday, beginning January 26th
Classes are 2-3 hours, depending upon age levels, and cost $18-22 per student, which includes all instruction, materials, firing and glazing costs.
DRAWING
If you have always wanted to draw, improve your skills, or get back into a practice, come join us for a class. We will use still life compositions, practice fundamental techniques, and hone skills as we go.
Mondays, February 11-March 11, 5:30-8 – $45
11 x 14 sketch pad and pencils required.
Felt-Making Classes
Felt-Making Needle-Felting Techniques
Using the needle felting process, which is easy to learn, we will explore the many ways to create with wool fleece. Functional items such as purses , small landscapes and gift ideas will be just a few of the projects we will cover. All materials are provided, and no experience is necessary!
Pictoral Felt
Full day workshop, This day will allow us to go more in-depth to create beautiful landscapes and learn more techniques for painting with the wool. No experience necessary, but suitable for those experienced as well. All materials provided.
February 16, 9-3:30- $55 or March 9th , 9-3:30 – $55 (You may take both workshops)
